Beautiful custom etching (in normal light, etching is opaque white) designed after the famous "Absinthe Robette" image from 1896. Fountain is blown, lead-free crystal, resistant to both temperature and breakage and is very light weight. Ships from inside USA - no problems with Customs, shipping damage, returns, exchanges etc. Imported from Europe. 19 in. tall with top, 8.5 in. table to spouts, holds 1.5 litre. All glasses except Premium Bubble Reservoir imported from France.

During the Belle Epoque, Absinthe Fountains were brought to your table so you could prepare your absinthe to your taste. Absinthe fountains are by far the best way to properly louche an absinthe as you have precise control of the drip rate of the water.

Using A Fountain: Add approximately one ounce of absinthe to your glass. A quality absinthe will usually provide the best louche at a 1:3 to 1:5 ratio. Place your Absinthe Spoon on top of your glass and a sugar cube on the spoon. Position your glass so the water drips over the cube. Turn the spigot on the fountain to your desired drip rate. A steady drip to a slow stream is preferred.

As water is added to the absinthe, the alcohol concentration falls allowing the release of herbal oils and aromas held in concentration by the high alcohol content of absinthe. The herbal oils form the louche lending a milky white, opalescent appearance to the drink.

Remember: Always use ice cold, pure water for the best tasting drink.

I bought this to replace my wife's fountain that fell over last summet. The set arrived super fast (3 days!) wrapped like I have never seen. The box was completely smashed but nothing was broken. The outside was a double box and the items were all wrapped in paper and bubble wrap. All of the parts are just perfect. The glasses are sturdy and very well made in france and the fountain is much nicer than the one it is replacing from amazon. They look the same online but there is a big difference in person. This one is much better looking glass that is crystal clear and lighter weight. The extra few dollars was definetly worth it. Completely satisfied and will shop here again.

This came beautifully packaged through the mail. The etched glass is gorgeous, as are the wormwood spoons and the set looks fantastic in the built-in cabinetry in my 100-year old house.

I'm very please with how this dripper looks in person. Everyone who sees it compliments the etched look. Shipping was fast with stellar packaging. The extras included were grea surprise! I really can't ask for more.
